The Issue: Lack of Fresh Food Access
Tackling the Issue

According to a 2018 study by Johns Hopkins University and the City of Baltimore, much of Baltimore is composed of Healthy Food Priority Areas, in which access to healthy, fresh food is inaccessible to residents via foot. In fact, almost 1 out of every 4 people in Baltimore do not have reliable access to fresh food due to a lack of nearby grocery stores and/or have limited income. Read the full report here.
Seedling offers hydroponics units to residents in these Healthy Food Priority Areas (food deserts) at a reduced or no cost. This effort is subsidized by our commercial sale of units on our website. A portion of your purchase will go towards the construction of another unit for a resident in these food deserts!
